Our Mission
We believe that food is more than just sustenance—it's a gateway to curiosity and a foundation for lifelong wellbeing. Our mission is to transform the way children interact with food by blending hands-on exploration with educational discovery. We create a safe, playful environment where children can touch, taste, and learn at their own pace, building the confidence they need to make healthy choices.
Why Play?
We believe that food is best discovered through the senses. Here's how we help children build confidence through play.
01
Sensory Exploration
Touch, taste, and smell are the first steps to understanding the world. We provide a safe space for kids to explore textures and flavors at their own pace.
02
Hands-On Fun
Messy play is essential for development. From cooking to sensory jars, we encourage creativity and imagination through active participation.
03
Confidence Building
By turning food into a playful journey, we help children feel more comfortable trying new things and building a positive relationship with eating.
My Journey
The Heart Behind
Food with Friends
Hi, I’m Georgia, an Accredited Practising Dietitian and founder of Friends with Food. I’m passionate about helping young children explore new foods, build confidence around eating, and feel excited about how food supports their growth and development.
I have several years of experience supporting children with fussy eating and eating
disorders, and I regularly work alongside other health professionals, including
psychologists and speech pathologists, to provide well-rounded support for children
and their families. I have supported many families to feel more confident introducing
new foods and creating positive, low-pressure mealtime experiences.
My approach is hands-on and practical, using cooking, interactive activities, and
education to help children understand and engage with food in a meaningful way. My
goal is to support children in developing a positive relationship with food, one that
grows with them over time. Through Friends with Food, I aim to make learning about
all food groups fun, engaging, and empowering so that kids and food can truly
become friends.
